FREEDOM: AN UNDERWATER ESCAPE

Aaron Radatz gave freedom another meaning this past July 4th holiday.  Radatz recreated a death-defying escape made famous by his mentor Harry Houdini; as he successfully escaped from restraints and a locked packing crate while underwater.  The escape was aptly named: FREEDOM.

On location at Wild Adventures Theme Park, the crate was lowered into a lake in the center of the park by a crane. The crate slowly sank into the water; amongst several animals that inhabit the murky surroundings, such as snakes and alligators.  Aaron then had a matter of seconds to pick his way out of the handcuffs and chains and then figure out a way to break his way out of the box against the pressure of the water.

Given the spectacular nature of this performance, press covered the unique story all across America; including Times Square and Las Vegas.

MASTERS OF ILLUSION

Magic is hotter than ever with resurgence on television.  One of the newest series of magic, Masters of Illusion, premiered in 2009 on Fox’s MyNetworkTV with one of the top ratings spots.  Aaron Radatz performed several pieces from his touring show at the live taping in Hollywood, California.  These segments have aired over 3 different episodes.  Watch your local listings for re-airings of these quality magic performances or visit the VIDEO page for YouTube links.

EAST MEETS WEST

Aaron Radatz was proud to be invited on his inaugural trip to China to perform at the country’s first premier magic performance venue; the Goose and Duck Magic Club.  Located in the heart of Beijing, the home to the 2008 Olympic Games, this new magic venue opened its doors in early 2009 and features prime magicians from around the world.  Aaron presented staple pieces from his touring show as well as some custom creations to accommodate the non-English speaking audience members.

MAJOR LEAGUE

Aaron Radatz had his chance in the major leagues recently when the Detroit Tigers called on Radatz to perform some of his own magic on the infield as the Tigers took on the New York Yankees in front of a sell-out crowd of 40,000 at Comerica Park.  Aaron performed an interactive mind reading effect live from the infield.

Fans were asked to mentally select one of 12 different colored giant baseballs positioned in a circle on the infield.  Even though thousands of people had a choice of any one ball, Aaron made a prediction of which one they would choose….and guess what, he was right.

"The Tigers are always excited to bring in new ways to entertain our fans and Aaron's groundbreaking magic will certainly do that.  You will have to see it to believe it," said David Dombrowski, Tigers' President, General Manager and CEO.  By the way, if the name Radatz is familiar to baseball fans, it may be because Aaron’s second cousin Dick Radatz played for the Boston Red Sox.

DISNEY MAGIC

Aaron Radatz sets sail several times with Disney Cruise Line performing as a guest artist for various durations throughout the year.  There is no other entertainment organization in the world that conjures up feelings of magic and wonderment quite like the Walt Disney Company.  Visiting various Caribbean islands, including Disney’s very own private island Castaway Cay, Aaron performs in the welcome aboard show along with Mickey and friends as well as Aaron’s family friendly show later into the trip.

THE MAGIC CASTLE

Aaron Radatz performs at The Magic Castle in Hollywood.  The Magic Castle is the world's most famous club for magicians and magic enthusiasts and home to The Academy of Magical Arts, Inc.  Located in the heart of Hollywood, California, The Magic Castle is the showplace for some of the greatest magicians from around the globe.

Established in 1963, this prestigious venue has featured many celebrity magicians over the years as well as "celebrity magic hobbyists" including Cary Grant, Steve Martin, Johnny Carson, and recently Jason Alexander of Seinfeld and Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother.  Gay Blackstone, president of the board of directors noted, “We are proud to have Aaron share his unique and highly entertaining magic.”

VIVA LAUGHLIN

One of the newest cities Aaron Radatz has enjoyed visiting is Laughlin, Nevada.  Located just 94 miles south of Las Vegas, Laughlin is the third most visited casino and resort destination in the state after Las Vegas and Reno.  The unincorporated township is named for founder Don Laughlin, who owns the Riverside Resort and Casino.  Consequently, this premiere casino in Laughlin is where Aaron Radatz has begun a yearly stop on his tour, headlining in the Celebrity Theatre where past stars such as The Smother Brothers, The Oakridge Boys, and Glen Campbell have performed.

TOUR FOR THE TROOPS

Aaron completed his 5th tour of US overseas military bases; this time in Bosnia, Kosovo and Sarajevo. “I feel it is one of the most important tours I do. These dedicated men and women are some of the most appreciative and gracious audiences I have performed for.” Aaron had the opportunity to share the tour with famed Los Angeles based comic juggler Bryson Lang www.brysonlang.com.
